Scooter rental in Sanur — free delivery, no deposit
Sanur is on the east coast, about 20 km from our base and roughly 45 minutes across the island. It is the calmest place on this list to ride, and by a wide margin the one we would send a nervous first-timer to. The roads are flat, wide and unhurried, the traffic behaves, and the whole area is laid out along one main street with the beach on one side of it.

Riding in Sanur
The easiest riding in south Bali
If you have never ridden a scooter before, Sanur is where to learn. Jalan Danau Tamblingan and Jalan Danau Poso run the length of the area, both flat and wide, with traffic that moves at a pace you can think at. There are no hills, no one-way puzzles and no lane of tourists stopping suddenly for a photograph.
Early morning is best of all — before 09:00 the main road is close to empty.
The beach path is not for scooters
The paved path running along the sand from Matahari Terbit to Mertasari is for pedestrians and bicycles. Riding a scooter on it is both unwelcome and, near the hotel frontages, actively policed. Park at one of the beach entrances and walk in.
Parking
Straightforward. Attended parking at the beach entrances and the markets, Rp 2.000. Along the main street most restaurants and shops have space out front. Sanur is far less strict than Kuta, but the same rule applies: do not block a shop entrance.
Where the traffic actually is
Sanur itself is calm. The Bypass Ngurah Rai on its western edge is not — it is a fast multi-lane road carrying traffic between Denpasar, the airport and the east. Cross it with care, use the traffic lights rather than filtering across, and if you are new to riding, avoid it entirely by staying on the inner streets.
Riding on from here
Sanur is a good base for the east. Ubud is about an hour inland. The port at Padang Bai for the Gili and Lombok boats is roughly ninety minutes up the coast, and that ride is one of the better ones on the island once you are past Kusamba.

Sanur questions
Is Sanur a good place to ride if I have never used a scooter?
It is the best area we deliver to for exactly that. The roads are flat and wide, the traffic is slower and more orderly than Kuta or Canggu, and there are no hills or one-way systems to work out. Ride the main street before 09:00 for your first hour.
How long does delivery to Sanur take?
Sanur is about 20 km across the island from us, so allow around 45 minutes from confirming on WhatsApp. Delivery is free, daily from 08.00 to 20.00 WITA, with no minimum rental length.
Can I ride from Sanur to Ubud on a scooter?
Yes, and it is a pleasant ride of about an hour through Batubulan. Any bike in the fleet manages it. If you plan to do it regularly, the PCX160 or NMAX Neo are noticeably more comfortable at road speed for that distance.
Do I need a deposit to rent in Sanur?
No. No deposit and no down payment anywhere we deliver. You pay the full rental price at handover by cash, bank transfer or QRIS.
